Dr. Campbell has been selected to be part of the Evaluation Pathways Initiative: a program that trains individuals in evaluation methods from a culturally responsive and equity-focused lens. She will be joining Cohort VI, along with 11 other professionals in civic service positions across public health, education, and non-profit sectors.
Dr. Campbell hosted a webinar with colleague Noma Shields in celebration of Digital Inclusion Week hosted by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance. They discussed with attendees how sports technology and data science education can create new opportunities for youth and empower them for an evolving digital future.
Dr. Campbell presented at the STEMNoire 2024 conference alongside Dr. Daenique Jengelley. Their talk, entitled Breathe Sis: Mindfulness Practices for Women in STEM, discussed the importance of meditation and other mindful practices in navigating stressors burdening Black women in STEM environments.
Dr. Campbell was an honoree for the Black Professional Network’s Women in Excellence Mixer. Dr. Campbell was recognized for her contributions to STEM education and workforce development.
Dr. Campbell earned a new credential in Higher Education Administration, solidifying her capabilities and expertise in student-centered professional service in higher education settings. Relevant skills obtained from this credential include student advising, program management, and program evaluation amongst others.
Dr. Campbell attended the annual convening for the Academic Data Science Alliance to present with colleagues on the challenges and opportunities of data science education in various higher education settings. She was able to reconnect with former students and mentees as well!
Dr. Campbell presented during a webinar entitled Data Storytelling for Nonprofits: Ethical & Responsible Data Practices. This virtual event focused on helping nonprofit organizations explore and assess their data practices, as well as learn about mechanisms to improve data collection, management, and storage in ethical and transparent ways.
Dr. Campbell published a new research article in the Journal of Immunology entitled A Lipopolysaccharide-Enriched Cow’s Milk Allergy Microbiome Promotes a TLR4-Dependent Proinflammatory Intestinal Immune Response. Dr. Campbell has published numerous studies, reviews, and presentations in a variety of journals and conference proceedings. Her areas of expertise include mucosal immunology and microbiology, and she is interested in STEM education research.
