Dr. Evelyn Campbell

hey there. welcome to my reserved space here on the internet.

to the world, i wear a few hats. i am a trained scientist, instructor, consultant, speaker, and published author. my current work centers on educational advocacy and advancement of marginalized groups. i also develop cultural, programmatic, and philanthropic strategies and mechanisms to enhance participation and accessibility of STEM careers to systematically underrepresented and excluded populations.
more than that, i consider myself a spiritual being trying to understand the world and live out my purpose. the lens by which i live this human experience is that of a Black woman, and so the way that i articulate my perspective is unapologetically situated within this domain. this in part includes exploring and embracing my derived meanings of African-American, Native-American, Afro-Caribbean, and African histories and cultures, and i love to be in dialogue with scholars, practitioners, and other folks that help me to learn more about that. i also acknowledge that beyond the social constructs i have been born into, learning from the experiences of others expands my understanding of the world and my skills in empathy and compassion, and so I greatly appreciate relationships that give me space to explore that.
in my own personal life, i am seeking a balance between work and play to live a journey of curated adventures that i find meaningful. as i exist, i strive to lead with love, see light in others, and facilitate collective healing. this, of course, is easier to write than to actualize, but i continuously choose to point my compass in that direction through my professional endeavors in educational advocacy, my artistic expressions in visual and written art, and the way i interact with others. this is how i wish to pay my rent for my room on Earth. if you are a scholar, advocate, artist, or person with similar interests, please feel free to connect with me on my social platforms. if you wish to collaborate on any projects in the realm of research, art, or community organizing, please reach out to me through the available contact form.
